"Hey There Miss Virginia!
So, after a semester of no dance (eek!), and a semester at the University's modern-heavy dance department, I decided it was time to go back to a studio. I went with the Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre School - run by Charlene Campbell. I'm dancing ballet 3 days a week and have returned 'Home' to tap class.
The classes have been a great way to relieve law school stress, but imagine my excitement when they put up signs for auditions for the Holiday Show! The audition went great and I'll be in two tap numbers, a ballet quartet, and the large vienna waltz-inspired ballet piece which has given me an opportunity to partner with one of the male dancers (awesome!).
I wanted to send you a poster to show you what I was up to, and to take a moment to say thank you for nurturing my love of dance and giving me the skills to take that love to the next level; even if it is just the top of my class (last week I demonstrated 1-footed pull backs when the teacher couldn't!). You taught me that dance can play a part in my life, even if I don't hit New York, and for that I will be forever grateful.
I don't know if I thanked you enough for coming to Omaha last year but let me say Thank You again - it meant so much to me to have you there for my senior show.
In short, thank you for everything you have done for me. What a difference you made in my life as a dancer. Believe me, this won't be my last time on stage!
I hope all is well in Madison and I look forward to seeing you when I come home for Christmas.
